A Little About Me
Welcome to my website!
My name is Mrs. Christine. I am a mother to two beautiful girls, and many fun and interesting pets, including horses, dogs, cats and a special needs, rescue bird. I have been a part of the homeschooling community for nearly sixteen years. I began homeschooling my own children when my oldest was in first grade, and since that time, we have had countless adventures exploring the world around us. I have a passion for working with children and I love to watch my students as they grow and thrive.
Prior to teaching, I spent five years enlisted in the USN Seabees, and I was lucky to have some wonderful deployments, spending time in Okinawa, Japan, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and Puerto Rico. After being honorably discharged, I returned home and earned my black belt in Tang Soo Do. I have practiced martial arts since the age of twelve, and I love to teach youth the art of self-defense. I also began working on my college degree after I returned home. I now have my Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies and my Master's in Ancient and Classical History. I have a passion for history, and I love to teach students about the events that have shaped our world throughout time.
Along with teaching history, I have always been drawn to books and writing. As a result, I decided to become certified to teach writing, using the IEW (Institute for Excellence in Writing) program. This program is a wonderful way to take the stress out of writing and I truly love teaching students how to build their writing skills. I have also become certified to teach two LEMI classes, both of which focus on the building of America and the struggles and sacrifice that have gone into securing and protecting our great nation.
Please feel free to look around my site. If you have any questions or would like to request any additional information or suggest any classes, just reach out and I will respond to you as soon as I am able.
