Throughout the course, students will encounter a wide array of mythological genres, including legends, folktales, creation myths, origin myths, nature myths, animal myths, and hero myths. Through engaging discussions and readings, students will analyze the unique characteristics of each genre and uncover the universal themes that resonate across cultures and time periods. From the heroic deeds of legendary figures to the cunning tricks of mythical creatures, students will encounter a colorful cast of characters that have captured the imaginations of people around the world for centuries.
